WHERE IDEAS COME TO LIFE
We think big.
We move fast.
We’re building.
Combining an entrepreneurial instinct with two decades in the robotics field, Scott LaValley is at the vanguard of the robotics revolution. WHERE WE STARTED
FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Meet Scott
Scott is an entrepreneurial spirit with two decades of experience in the field of robotics. Throughout his career he has touched some of the world’s most advanced and famous robotics projects. Scott has led the design of numerous robotic platforms, including Boston Dynamics early Atlas robots used in the DARPA Robotics Challenge, PETMAN, and rugged RHex. Scott was also a key technical contributor on Boston Dynamics quadruped robots LS3 and Spot and the jumping robot Sand Flea. Scott also competed in the televised show BattleBots and has appeared on the Jay Leno Tonight show with his robot DooAll. More recently, Scott led the development of Walt Disney’s small free-roaming walking bipedal robot character platform publicly released as Baby Groot. Scott left Disney to found Cartwheel Robotics in December of 2021 with the core members of the hardware team that brought the Baby Groot robot to life.
